Eastern Long Island, North Fork and the Hamptons Dog Trainers

	Frank Bonomo has been one of New York's premier dog trainers for more than a decade. President and founder of Best Friend's Dog Training, as well as owner of the New York Academy for Dog Trainers, he is not only a premier dog trainer with over a decade of experience, but has also gained a reputation as "trainer to the trainers." Frank founded Best Friend's Dog Training in 1999 after completing his initial apprenticeship in obedience and protection training.
He quickly made a name for himself in the dog training field with his ability to take on "problem dogs" that everyone else had given up on. He has trained service dogs, rescue dogs, and numerous dogs that were deemed "hopeless," and is an active supporter of the Therapy Dog program. Frank holds certifications for narcotics and scent-detection training, has titled dogs in protection sports and does ongoing continuing education throughout the U.S. He lives in Long Island with his wife and family of dogs – Hemi, Trinity, Boomer and the newest addition – Baci!


	Cindy McKinney Even as a young girl, Cindy McKinney knew she would work with animals. She had reptiles, small animals, horses, cats and of course – dogs! This began a long career in the dog and pet industry, including a BOCES certificate of Animal Science and positions at various pet stores, including three years at PetSmart where she succeeded as a floor manager, groomer and Salon Manager. Her bubbly personality makes clients feel at ease (you won’t be shocked to find out she was a Sayville High cheerleader) and she has had great success working with Best Friend’s Dog Training clients who need to build up the confidence to become great dog owners and handlers.
Cindy has two dogs of her own: the high-energy, four-year old Jack Russell, Jax, who has done obedience, agility, and trick training (ask to see his “chest flip!”) and a Belgian Malinois puppy named Stone. Stone is being trained in Personal Protection Sports and will eventually compete in the PSA (Protection Sports Association) and potentially French Ring.

	Gabby Marciano has worked both an as an veterinary ICU assistant/technician and as a vet tech and is currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science. This background serves her well as a trainer at Best Friend’s Dog Training. After having completed an extensive 14-month training program, Gabby now works with her clients on the basic obedience skills they need to be great canine citizens. Gabby spends her free time with her 5 year old pit bull-terrier rescue, Luna, going on long walks (great for working out excess energy), car rides and even bringing her to work at Levittown Animal Hospital. Gabby loves all dogs, big and small, but has a soft spot for pit bulls and rescues.



	Brian Potts brings passion and patience to his dog training and views dog training as a way to make a positive difference in the lives of families and dogs. As a former client of Best Friends Dog Training and current apprentice in the New York Academy of Professional Dog Trainers, Brian is accomplishing a lifetime dream to work with dogs. Brian is also working on his M.F.A. in documentary film at Hofstra University. His master’s thesis is about the evolution of dog training. He views every encounter with dogs and people who interact with dogs as valuable research to make a better documentary. His hope is that his documentary will help illustrate the power of dog training in the special bond between human and canine. Brian especially enjoys "trick training" with his two Australian shepherds, Reilly and Casey. These dogs can do a lot more than just "shake paws!" Ask to see some of his latest training videos.
	Derrick Wescott After graduating from Triple Crown academy, a 12 week training and behavioral program, he found that it takes more the just good foundation in dogs to start a career in training. After hearing about a kennel position opening at Best Friend's he moved from upstate N.Y. to Long Island. Derrick took the kennel position in September of 2006 in hopes of earning an apprenticeship. Derrick finished our 1 year apprenticeship, has been a full time trainer with us honing his skills further. After almost five years downstate, Derrick returned to his native Saratoga and is opening Best Friend's Dog Training, covering Johnstown, Albany, Saratoga, and the Glens Falls region. Derrick has two dogs, Peter, his American Bull Dog, and Jager the Jack Russel Terrier.
